Tulix is a financial management and payment platform that empowers users in Kenya and around the world to share money, budget, and manage their finances more easily with friends and family. Tulix allows users to make payments using mobile money and offers a range of tools and features to help users track and manage their spending, including the ability to create "jars" for specific purposes such as sharing expenses or saving for a goal. Tulix is targeted towards millennials and Gen Z.

What's welvert solving


Ultimately, welvert sought to give a seamless experience to users by consolidating processes involved in digital asset exchange. The essence of the product stemed from the 3 concerns listed:

Concern 1: Welvert initially, sought to solve was from a business perspective. The crypto exchange business was restricted to using just whatsapp for transactions, which was limiting as only 2 transactions could be carried out simultaneously (mobile and desktop). Due to this issue, a centralized exchange platform had to be designed to better satisfy users.

Concern 2: Welvert, a financial institution was inevitably going to be affected by this ruling. The product had to find a way around this to sustain operation. A new feature called “marketplace” was added to enable peer-peer transactions. This kept the product within the regulations listed by the regulatory body.

Concern 3: The last problem welvert sought to solve was had to do with moving money. Considering the fact that completing a transaction on a crypto-based platfrom requires users to switch to their banking apps, it reduced the seamless experience. The solution for this revolved around consolidating the transaction process in one product i.e. users will be able to complete transactions without switching applications before fiat is transferred. This solution brought about the “digital wallet” solution in the product.

From the concerns outlined, the solution welvert brings to the market is creating a platform to trade digital assets easily through the “market place” and owning a “digital walllet” for fiat transfers.



Target Users


The product was targeted to people that are involved in or wants to get into the exchange of digital asset (crypto, gift cards).



Timeline


The project was to be stipulated and completed within 4 weeks. Design phases were scheduled
between the period of time.

In order to properly understand the problem from the perspective of the users, an interview was conducted among the target users to validate their pain points. The interview was carried out with 7 crypto traders and 3 people who intend on going into crypto.

The aim of this interview was to find out how crypto traders make transactions on a daily basis and understand how they would continue trading considering the regulation issued.

4 out of the 7 crypto traders use social plaforms like whatsapp, telegram respectively to trade crypto and gift cards with thier clients. They admitted to the fact that the process was quite tediuos and had plans of switching to other trading plaforms like Binanace, Buycoins.

The remaining 3 crypto traders also use social plaforms for thier trade as well as other trading plaforms like Binance. Although their issue was keeping their clientele because most of their clients only reach out via these social plaforms.

The last set of people interviewed were the newbies to crypto trading. These set of users were still experimenting plaforms to make use of and had concerns about the regulations issued earlier. One of them highlighted how they would like to make all their transactions in one place because of a personal experience.

The aim of this interview was met because some of the interviewees concerns seemed
to be valid and corresponded with the goal of the product

Now the problems have been properly defined, and salient areas have been unveiled for opportunities for the product, I used my findings to deduce 2 user personas who will represent the target audience defined with their needs.
